Key disciplines overview Beijing Normal University , the national key university, was one of the first six teacher universities sanctioned by the Ministry of Education in 2002 to set up their own degree programs. BNU has 19 schools and six separate departments. It has general bachelor's programs in 52 disciplines and a master's program in 127 specific disciplines, and doctoral program in 69 special fields. BNU also has seven key research centers of the Ministry of Education, two National Basic Science Research and Training Institutes and 16 post-doctoral research stations. |

By June 2004, BNU had already built up 19 research units. These include the following key laboratories and centers: In addition, there are 76 school-level key laboratories. According to the 15 th development plan of BNU, one hundred laboratories of different kinds of will be built within the next five years. These will include laboratories at different levels, such as national, city department, and grade schools. The laboratories at different levels will complement one another. |
