　　The lack of explicit theoretical attention to logic and grammar in the history of China has been noted by many scholars. I ask about the function of clear logical expression within discourse and a broader social and political setting, mentioning various well-known texts from early Chinese philosophy and trying to construct a plausible explanation for logic's lack of importance to the development of Chinese thought.

　　许多学者已经注意到，传统的中国学术对于逻辑和语法缺少明确的理论关注。在这个报告中，我将考察清晰的逻辑表达在广泛的社会和政治语境中的作用，讨论各种各样的我们熟知的早期中国哲学文本，试图解释为何逻辑没有在中国思想的发展中扮演重要角色。
