Abstract 

    A great number of books on the economic safety of China have been published in these years, stimulated by the fact that China will take part in the World Trade Organization and will become more and more open to the world.  These books study the inner factors related to the safety of economy include energy, communication, resources, markets and labor, etc.   Different from those books above mentioned, this book studies the external factors affect the economic safety of China.  It holds as a point of view that the safety of a nation includes political safety, economic safety, military safety, environmental safety, technological safety and cultural safety.  The safety of politics is the core of the safety of a nation, and the safety of economic is the most important one in worldwide after the cold war finished.  Technological safety and environmental safety, both as the external factors affect economic safety, and especially technological safety, influence the economic safety greatly.   This book studies those two aspects influencing economic safety, and the relationship between culture and economy.  It also holds as a point of view that there are three levels of factors influence the economic safety:  the factor of material, the factor of institution, the factor of culture.  This book gives an analysis on the influence of institution to the safety of economy, especially the legal institution to the safety of economy, as well as the influence of culture to the economic safety.
